William Gropper: Capriccios

The "Capriccios" suite, a series of etchings created between 1953-56, was made in response to Gropper's experience as a blacklisted artist in the era of McCarthyism in 1950s America, and inspired by Francisco de Goya satirical work "Los Caprichos" from the late 18th century.
