DescriptionJohn Egner taught painting at Wayne State University in Detroit from 1966 to 1987 and was a prominent figure in Detroit's Cass Corridor art community. Pouring enamel onto an irregularly shaped panel, Egner produced colorful, textured shapes, at once sporadic and controlled, establishing a sense of the artwork continuing beyond its surface.
