DescriptionIn 1960, John “Johnny Powers” Pavlik made history by becoming the first white artist signed to Motown Records by founder Berry Gordy, Jr. With a sound inspired by a mixture of early country music and the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll, Powers’ unique musical legacy has seen him inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and gained him contracts under both Motown and Sun Records – the only artist to ever do so. Most known as a performer for his hit single under Fox Records, “Long Blond Hair,” Powers has also become a successful entrepreneur, working as an artist as well as a publisher within his own company, Jet-Eye Music, Inc. When not working with his publishing company, Powers still tours as a musician and has a lively fan base abroad.Collections
