DescriptionBorn and raised in Detroit, Carlo Vitale’s artwork first bloomed within the second generation Cass Corridor art scene of the 1970s. He received his MFA from Wayne State University. Vitale’s work is inspired by some of the spirituality and music he experienced while living in Detroit. Inspired by the swirling and dotted works of pointillists such as Georges Seurat, Vitale’s work takes on an exceptionally thrilling and eccentric vibrancy of form that is singular in presentation. During his time in the Cass Corridor, Vitale exhibited at local art galleries including the Detroit Artists Market, Park West Galleries, and the Detroit Focus Gallery. Vitale is still at work today creating art, and he currently has studios in both Macomb and Sandusky, Michigan.
