DescriptionA sculptor and painter straight out of the Cass Corridor movement, Steven Foust received both his BFA and MFA from Wayne State University in the mid-70s. During his time in Detroit, Foust exhibited his work at the Willis Gallery in group and solo exhibitions. While Foust’s work explores both painted and sculptural abstractions, his more recent body of work has focused on woodworking and the exploration of organic form. Foust has exhibited work in a variety of locations, including Battery Park in New York City, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and Wayne State University’s Elaine L. Jacobs Gallery. Foust currently resides and works in New York where he keeps a studio on Staten Island.
