CAPTURING SILENCE
Outspread skin stretches
across space
left between each breath
The space is stillness
and it widens
Expanding
as to enter the sea
full on
My veins persist
pumping all that lingers
into the embrace
Motion slows
and time parts
resting only
at the curves of death
The rehearsal passes
as a wave in the
process of beating
nothing more
than a sound
layered against skin
